Hey guys, I'm back today to discuss another fit of mine from July. I like to scroll through my Instagram and just reflect on my style and how I can do better with future fits. With this one in particular it was a pretty calm fit but I received a lot of love on it so I wanted to share the fit insight with you all. With that being said, let's get into it.
The fit of discussion is the following:
How The Fit Came About
I came about this fit after shopping the SSense sale a few months back. As soon as I saw this "dress" I instantly thought about how cute it'd look with my Tabis. The length of the dress paired with the height of the Tabis was really the perfect combo in my head. Once I saw the Comme tote I was like nahhhh I need this whole fit. The colors all complimented each other so well. Once I purchased everything and tried it on with the heels I knew I made the right decision. Also, you can never have too many totes, right?
What I'm Wearing
With this fit it was all about Pink. The Comme dress mixed with the cute cupcake and blue hue made for a perfect match. The Tabis brought the overall look together and I was super happy how this came out :)
I literally was plotting on this fit for a few weeks so I don't have much detail on why I chose besides the vision I had... so let's talk more about the brands!...
Designer's/Brands
Dress: Comme des Garcons Girl Collection (bought at $84)
This dress was found on SSense sale but can now be found on Modesens for $135. I always catch the good sales hehehehhe. Anyways, I bought an extra small which is lowkey tight on me so I'm gonna be selling this for maybe $70-$80 (only worn once). So if anyone's interested lmk we can talk! It's a pretty simple dress but such a cute length. You can style it so many ways, like with a pair of sneakers, open toe heels, or a pair of sandals. It's a very versatile piece.
Bag: Comme des Garcons Shirt Collection (currently $79.60)
This'll be a pretty quick summary, but like stated I just needed a matching accessory to add a lil more "pizazz" to the fit. Besides serving looks this bag is great for grocery shopping, a spenannanight bag or just day-to-day shopping. It's pretty big and roomy for whatever activity you have going on.
Shoes: Maison Margiela Tabi Boots (currently $450)
So my Tabis.... ahh I love these shoes soo much. To keep it real with you all this was my FIRST big purchase item. I was plotting on a pair of Tabis for so long but didn't want a basic color. So last year around my 21st birthday I really really wanted a designer piece to wear with my birthday outfit I was making. The theme of the fit was pink, (clearly pink is a fave of mine).
I was at work scrolling through SSense and I saw the pink Tabis... I instantly knew those were it. I had the vision!
I started picturing the shoes with my birthday outfit so I made the purchase. They were around $550 when I bought them which was a scary ass purchase for me. I never everrrr spent that much money on myself. (Yes guys I just bought my first designer piece last year!) Bought I knew Margiela was a great brand and my friends shared with me how good of a shoe it was, quality wise. So after getting declined for the purchase 2-3 times (cus a bitch never spent that much on anything) my card finally allowed the purchase and I received my Tabis literally like 2 days before my party. I was sooo happy!! Lemme show yall some pics from that night.
So this was the first night I ever wore the shoes (my 21st birthday party I threw in March 2019). I've definitely outgrown this look now being that it was over a year ago; my style and look is constantly changing. Nevertheless though, this was a look designed by me. I think this was the first thing I ever created. I was feeling very Poison Ivy meets pink princess vibes. The pink lace gloves just added a lil more flare along with my wavy hair look.
Anyways guys, the main topic I wanted to discuss was the Tabis. I really love them and will probably hold onto them for the rest of my life if possible. They mean a lot to me being that it was my first big designer purchase. Maybe I'll even pass em on to my future daughter for her first pair of Tabis when she's old enough :)
Here's some links to other Tabis I really like that you all may like as well:
As always I appreciate you guys for tuning in and I hope you all like hearing about my fashion endeavors... more to come! TTYS
