Creative of the week: Stefon Pack
Owner of brand "Girl'sHeavenSent"
Hi guys! I'm back with my 3rd installment of "Feature Friday." This week I'm going to introduce you to a close friend of mine, my fellow Pisces brother Stef. Stef and I became friends over these past few quarantine months and it's been exciting to see the growth of not only his brand Girls Heaven Sent, but the growth in him as a person. I'm super excited to introduce you guys to such a calm and collected dude; lets get into it!
Interview
Me: "Welcome Stef! I'm so glad I have this opportunity to introduce the readers to you. For everyone tuned in, please tell us your name (or preferred name), age and where you born."
Stef: "I'm Stefon pack or Stef. I'm 24 and born in Long Island raised between South Carolina and Brooklyn."
Me: "Okay okay, cool. So as I mentioned above we know you've started your own brand called Girl's Heaven Sent. I always loved the name btw. Also the graphics you use and the logo font are fire too. To start off, how did you come up with such a unique name, GirlsHeavenSent and what does it mean to you?"
Stef: "Thanks, 'GHS' GirlsHeavenSent is just my appreciation for women in general and how I view shawtys. It's how I believe they should be treated because of their beautiful energy and what they prove. There is no life without women... so its a unisex brand appreciating women."
Me: "I love that and I know a lot of women will appreciate a brand that literally shows love just through the name itself. Very thoughtful. What made you interested in starting GHS? Was it truly just a love for the ladies?"
Stef: "Honestly I been into clothes and fashion my whole life. Literally ain't always have the funds to create the actual silhouettes I wanted but even before the designer I would have my own spin on what I had on. Aka my own swag. Anyone who knew me then can tell you it all starts from how you think. I've been thinking different my whole life. Not relatable but respected."
Me: "I can definitely appreciate someone who comes from pre-designer dressing and was still able to shit on mfs (lol). It's really a talent not many people can do. Shout out to you. Also being able to take your style and turn it into your own brand is fye.
With that being said, where do you wanna take the brand in the next few years? Any product extension or anything like that?"
Stef: "We (GHS) should be well established with a decent following. I wish I started earlier but time is a funny thing for sure."
Me: "Most definitely is!! But we here now that's all that matters. We're moving fourward (s/o Orie) and progressing onto the next levels of this creative journey. And that's all we can do.
So now that you've made something bigger than you with this brand, what are some of your current goals and ambitions for GHS? Also to go along with that, what has been some of your greatest accomplishments with GHS thus far?"
Stef: "My current goals are to grow my brand and develop a core base. As far as my ambitions- create to my max and possibly end up designing for a major brand or creative directing somehow someway, along with continuing my own brand. As far as achievements, I plan to achieve a lot more. But so far I've influenced a few people that other people look up to. And also help whoever feel more comfortable in trusting their own opinion with no gas behind it."
Me: "Saying you've made people feel more comfortable is a beautiful thing. Not everyone has the confidence to wear certain silhouettes or brands so for you to be able to help someone with that is beautiful foreal.
To your point of creative direction I can totally see you in that business, just based off your personal style and the colors/prints you use for the brand. Also the way you take your own pictures has its own special aesthetic, unlike a lot of what I see on my Instagram feed. You definitely have that creative eye.
So since we're on the topic of creativity within style, how would you describe your personal style? Any favorite designers or brands?"
Stef: "Appreciate you and everyone else who believes in the boy. Honestly I just do my thing feel me, I like what I like and stay true to me. Describing my style- not sure (lol). I wear dress shoes from Undercover and graphic tees from (n) or Margiela. Don't think I'm materialistic but I like all my clothes a lot (lol). Favorite designers? Uh don't really have any favorites. As far as brands I fuck with (n), Margiela, vintage ice cream stuff. I respect sam from ACW. Orie from Fourplay, Bravado guy; all artist who have influence and inspire with the least influence in their work (lol), like make people want to copy them but don't mimic anyone. Ian and Bari too just cause they making a living off their ideas and that's the goal to be able to live off your mind."
Me: "Lol, so to talk about your style I think that nails it. You the only mf I know who will pull up in some sweats and Tabis!! With a pocket of cash. Real fly shit, but always subtle. Always. And that last thing you said about being able to live off your mind is so true. As a creative that's truly all we desire. Getting those ideas out and making a living. That's all. The fact that you already have your own brand will definitely lead you to that direction.
So Stef, I think it's important that we show ourselves some love and stop to admire ourselves despite flaws we may see on a day to day. So, these last two questions I like to ask my guests... first one I ask, what would you say is your best feature and why?"
Stef: "Best feature as far as? Matter fact I'll let you decide, you tell me."
Me: "Lol, if I had to say a best feature I'd say it's the curls and personality for me! Even though you braided ur shit up, the curls got it! And your personality is super chill and mellow with random energy bursts, very similar to me. The personality definitely adds to your overall style.
Well Stef we've reached the end of our interview. So lastly like I always ask my guests; if you could leave the people with any words of encouragement what would it be?"
Stef: "Don't b scared to b, u."
